The Green Revolution

INTRODUCTION

The green revolution was a time of great increase in production of food grains, especially wheat and rice, that resulted in a large part of developing countries being introduced to these food grains.

ACTIVITY

Plant the Greens

Materials: Gardening tools, soil, seeds, water// Duration: 10 -15minutes

  • Take small groups of kids to explore, weed, and till a garden using tools or their hands to remove weeds and loosen the soil.

LESSON

The green revolution was a very big deal in history and its effects can be seen to this day. The amount of fertilizers and pesticides harmed the environment and we are still facing the consequences.
