We believe there’s a better way to save the planet.
About
Beyond Terra is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2020 by a pair of Bay Area high school students.
The anthropogenic impact on the world has had numerous and profound consequences, particularly concerning climate change, pollution, and habitat loss. These issues are inextricably linked to the problem of biodiversity loss, as most, if not all, environmental problems negatively impact the diversity of life on earth. In the public sphere, there is a dichotomy of attitudes toward environmental degradation: some individuals are highly engaged in efforts to reduce their carbon footprint and mitigate the effects of climate change, while others are indifferent or apathetic. Despite the efforts of many to address the crisis, a significant proportion of the global population remains unaware or unconcerned about the issue.
Beyond Terra emerges out of a careful analysis of how economic incentives drive governments and for-profit companies to degrade the environment. The group is currently involved in several projects throughout California. Our team is organized into action-oriented groups with heavy overlap and individual authority. We believe that to deal with today’s environmental challenges, a preventative—not mitigative—approach must be prioritized.
We are a response to declining global biodiversity.
Mission
To restore and preserve biodiversity by advancing the future of conservation.
